We’ve been Scottsdale’s best-kept golf secret for a long time. Now, we’re ready to make a splash. Our new name, new attitude, and all the big changes to come are certain to make us one of the most talked about golf experiences in town.
Nowhere is the virtue of patience more rewarded than at Verde River Golf & Social Club (currently known as “Tegavah”), a golf course and club nearly 10 years in the making that is just now finding its true identity. Launched originally in 2007 to rave reviews from experts and guests alike, the golf course has always been well received for the value of its strategic design, and the sheer beauty of the views across the Verde River, to the Tonto National Forest and ultimately the iconic Four Peaks.
Created first with the idea of being a daily fee facility by noted architect Ken Kavanaugh, the course is currently preparing for a number of renovations to make it more suitable as a private club. These enhancements are happening under the watchful eye of nearby resident and PGA TOUR legend, Tom Lehman, who is focused particularly on improving the green complexes, recapturing some of the natural arroyos that define the course, and highlighting the view corridors toward Four Peaks and the Mazatzal Mountains.
Beginning in the fall of 2015, Verde River Golf & Social Club will begin to issue memberships to those looking to be a part of the future private club. These early members will enjoy preferred initiation fee options, preferred dues, and preferred access, all knowing that the true payoff will come in the next few years when the club grows its membership to a point when it can convert to fully private.
In the early years of the club and community, a limited amount of unaccompanied, non-member play will be welcomed at Verde River Golf & Social Club. This practice is intended to maximize appreciation for the quality of the golf experience among potential members. This access will be reduced over time.
