There’s a lot of action on the Vermont ski front this year. Stowe’s four-season resort was recently acquired by Vail Resorts. That means the mountain is now part of the many ski hills accessible using the Epic season pass—an advantage that is likely to have a positive affect on your winter vacation plans! Located a few hours from Montreal, this destination is a favourite among Canadians, thanks to its wonderfully long runs and amazing snow cover. Because the resort is as popular in the summer as it is in the winter, its slopeside town is vibrant, extensively developed and offers a wide variety of accommodations. If you plan on skiing in Colorado, Park City or Whistler this winter, the Epic pass could be a very smart purchase indeed—plus, you can use it at Stowe to help get your ski legs ready for the season, for free!
A little anecdote: the first time I went to Stowe, I was celebrating my birthday. Unfortunately, that morning, my friends showed up on the bus without their passports! Needless to say, we had to leave them behind… talk about getting things off to a bad start! However, in no time at all, I found some new ski friends and had a great time discovering this magnificent ski area. I also spent some time exploring with the mountain’s ski instructor who guided me through all six sectors of this resort. It was amazing!
This wonderful adventure clearly confirmed that Stowe has everything a skier needs—even friends!
