On this site, the first remains of the Andean culture of the Altiplano were discovered. This village of ceramics is the birthplace of the famous toritos Pucara (bulls) adorning the Andean roofs as a protector. There are other stone sculptures representing curious characters that are witnesses of a warlike civilization.
Raqchi (121km from Cusco) is also known as the “Temple of the God Wiracocha”. This Inca temple has monumental dimensions: 100m long, 28m wide and 14m high. It is divided into 2 parts, and in each one we can appreciate the bases of 11 gigantic columns built of perfectly cut stones and surmounted by adobes.
