Discovering New Delhi and around: visit of New Delhi, India Gate, a monument dedicatd to soldiers having fought in the First Wolrd War and Rashtrapati Bhavan or presidential palace, official residence of India’s president. Humayun’s tomb: built in the middle of the 15th century by HajiBegum, first spouse of Humayun, 2nd moghol emperor. Dinner and back to the hotel.

Breakfast at the hotel. We visit Shey’s palace built in the 10th century and restored in the 15th century. Next to the ruins is a temple dedicated to Buddha Shakyamuni. Then, leaving for Hemis monastery, founded in 1630 and the biggest monastery of Ladakh. Also stopping at Tikse Gompa, a large monastic group. Lunch during the visit or as a pic nic. Dinner and back to the hotel.
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, discovering Upper Leh. Visit of Sankar Gonap, a small Gelugpa monastery and the llama monastery. Namgyal Tsemo, high above Leh, former palace of king Drakpa Bumde. Lehche Spakar, or Leh palace, built in the 17th century has 9 floors. Lunch on the way. Dinner and back to the hotel.
Breakfast at the hotel. Leaving for Saspol. Photo stop on the way and visit of Saspol’s grottos. The temple located in these grottos are incredible. Lunch during the visit or back at the hotel. Visiting the famous Alchi monastery. This religious enclave includes Dukhang (Assembly Hall), Sumtsek Lhakhang (three levels) Lhakhang Soma (New Temple), Jamyang Lhakhang (Munjushri temple), Lotsava Lhakhang (Translator Temple) and Kangur Lhakhang. Dinner and back to the hotel.
Breakfast at the hotel. Leaving for Lamayuru / Khaltsi, after showing our passports ata control point, we reach Lamayuru monastery. Visit includes Lamayuru “Yungdrung” Gonpa built on a rock to the West, on Leh Srinagar highway. Lamayuru is part of the order of Drigunpa. The history of the monastery starts with Arahat Nimagung. Arahat made a prophecy saying that a monastery would appear there. Lunch, dinner and back to the hotel.
Breakfast at the hotel. Leaving for Likir Gompa, founded in the 11th century but inaugurated in the 15th century after a fire. Likir has a magnificent view over the country. This monastery is part of the Yellow sect, headed by the Dalai Lama’s younger brother. Leaving for Leh and free time. Lunch, dinner and back to the hotel.
