In 1837, a group of men from La Malbaie associated to form a logging company in the Saguenay. Their foray into territory previously closed to colonization is considered the event which led to the development and implantation of settlers in the area. Hop aboard to understand and learn how these beautiful regions have been able to develop economically and grow as a tourist attraction over time.

In order to respect the safety of travelers and to properly follow public health protocols, a few things will be different on our upcoming bus trips.
Here is an overview of the new measures approved by the Fédération des transporteurs du Québec:
- The vaccination passport will be requested at boarding only for our departures to the United States;
- The bus can now accommodate all passengers for travels beginning on March 14, 2022;
- You may eat and drink on the bus;
- You may use the restroom on the bus;
- Wearing a mask is mandatory on the coach. A procedure mask will be provided to you by Gendron Travel;
- All surfaces inside the coach will be disinfected twice a day with an electrostatic sprayer;
- Seat assignment for all passengers for the duration of the stay;
- New safe boarding and disembarking procedure for you and your bike (if bike travel).
*Voyages Gendron reserves the right to reshuffle seat selections based on exceptional conditions to ensure that as many passengers as possible can participate in the trip in a sanitary manner.

Discover the marine life of a unique river canal and the history of a people in this attractive museum that popularizes science interactively. You will visit the giant aquarium, the permanent exhibition on regional history and the multimedia show.
Guided tour of historic St. Alexis, where Saguenay-Lac Saint-Jean was founded.
Visitors are encouraged to discover little secrets and the outline of the history of the Saint-Alexis Great Bay since the first arrivals of Charlevoix and everyday life at the beginning of colonization.

Tour and tasting at the Microbrasserie du Lac.
Take a tour of their facilities with their brewer. You will discover the fascinating world of brewing and will show you the tricks of his skill and eventually complete it with a tasting session.
Visit the Cristal du Lac museum.
Cristal du lac has an activity center specialized in the quartz crystal from its mine site in Lac-Saint-Jean. Prospector crystalware transmit its know-how and help you discover this semi-precious stone extracted handcrafted until processed for jewelery.

Visit the historic village of Val-Jalbert.
Prepare to back a century to the time of the first pasta mill in Quebec. It is an open air museum where you can, among other activities, visit wooden houses of old time, the convent school, post office and general store that served as a “supermarket”.
