Mention Kicking Horse and the unbelievable couloirs of this fabulous resort are sure to be the first thing that comes to mind. In fact, no other place has this many burly alpine couloirs packed so closely together! Kicking Horse has over 85 of them on both sides of Redemption Ridge, CPR Ridge and T1 South Ridge as well as on the eastern side of T2 North Ridge and my favourite in the Whitewall part of the Feuz Bowl.
Once almost exclusively reserved for seasoned skiers, the resort now has some tamer options in the Crystal Bowl, which appeals to the less experienced and gives them the opportunity to climb to the top for a snack at Eagle's Eye—Canada's highest elevated restaurant!
Kicking Horse also boasts a very small but wonderfully charming village at the foot of the slopes offering a wide range of accommodations. In addition to this, the resort is located less than 15 kilometres from downtown Golden, where you’ll find even more excellent places to eat and sleep.
