You'll be in a group with a similar skill level, so you can enjoy the mountains and skiing to the full. Experienced skiers can try cross-country skiing as an introduction or full-on, for half a day, if snow conditions allow.

Warning about ski lessons and kids club

First I have to say I received compensation from Club Med for numerous issues we experienced. However I am not at all confident that the following two issues (over and above other issues) will be properly dealt with by the company and thus I write this review to warn: 1) ski lessons. You are expected to attend all day every day. For many that is what is wanted. But for those that don’t (like us as we wanted to spend time together as family for part of the day), I was not welcomed after the second day by the skiing instructor. The hotel manager accepted that there was no info on the English website about this expectation (there was on the French website) and this needed to be amended so that guests understood what was expected of them . However upon return from the holiday and engaging with HQ they refused to accept there was missing info on the English website. 2) the kids club was upsetting. So many kids were dropped off crying and not wanting to be left and after my daughter’s first awful morning I sat in in the afternoon and understood why. 1) although the staff spoke English they regularly didn’t (I understand French so understood all that was going on) so kids were being given instructions without them understanding and then being harshly told off again not in English, when not following them 2) kids were being yanked up from the snow by the back of their necks - not gentle, kids upset by it. 3) kids weren’t allowed to go back into the kids club from outside when they were cold and bored, despite parents being told this was possible 3) it was boring! So many kids for a small ski area at the back of the hotel, no fun, no games just queue up to wait quite some time to go up the escalator and then a 20 second ski down and queue again. 4) very little empathy for the upset kids. I heard kids being told to just stop crying and no attempt by staff to understand or empathise. Although the manager on site apologised, again HQ when back at home refused to engage in my concerns. I have no faith that things will improve. I obtained the email addresses of CEOs of club med given my significant concerns, especially about kids club, despite repeatedly emailing them they just forwarded my emails on to England HQ - so disappointing and perhaps demonstrates how little they care. I wouldn’t travel again to club med form my experience with a family (although perhaps teenagers might be different!).
