Warning of a horrible experience at Clubmed Guadalupe
It should be mentioned that I sent an email to the manager at Clubmed. Guadalupe 20 days before our arrival. I just wanted to inform them that it was my partner‘s birthday as well as our 10 year wedding anniversary! And that we would be celebrating the week when we were there ,also if there was anything extra special that they could do for us or suggest something for us. I never received a response, even though I had requested one . I have to mention that Cedric at the reception after I showed him the email that was never responded too, he told me that it was his boss’s boss email. He did take the opportunity to write a happy birthday note and leave it in our room for my partner and a happy anniversary notes other than that, nothing was done. We arrived at the Clubmed at 1 PM and was only allowed our room access at 4 PM. We were told that we would be paged or texted when our room was ready and we would be shown to where our room was. We never received a page or a text and had to wander around the property fully dressed in a 35° heat to find it ourselves. we had paid for a deluxe room with an ocean view. The room they gave us looked like it was straight out of the late 80s and early 90s extremely small. the beach that we were facing was not the nice beach that everyone goes on. It was the far beach on the other side of the property that had rotting algae As well as the Clubmed’s garbage disposal system right next to our building the smell was so unbearable like sulphur and eggs and rotting meat that the first night, we woke up three times with massive headaches and nausea. When we contacted the reception the next day, we were told that it was in our contract of sale that the algae would be producing the smell! nowhere did it specify in our contract about that and we did our own research and apparently the fumes that are released from this algae can be toxic to humans after prolonged exposure. At first they tried to switch our rooms with an upgrade fee of over €500 when we refused they told us they would give us 50% discount around €250 when we refuse that because we had already paid for an upgraded room and felt completely ripped off with the room they gave us.they finally gave us a room on the other side of the property, at no extra cost. I want to mention that the hotel manager had told us that they couldn’t give us a different room, originally because the hotel was at 89% capacity in reality The hotel was completely empty and another manager. The next day had confirmed to us that they were only at 40% capacity. As for the room, it was better, Less of a rotting smell, but there were blood stains and holes on our sheets. Something I do not expect with Clubmed standards as for activities, there were almost none we had brought our diving equipment only to find out that they did not offer diving for about two years now all the GO’ s instead of interacting with guests, they kept themselves in groups, for instance at the buffet they would all sit together in one section and not mingle with guests. There was little to no interaction with the GO’s the whole week we were there. All the employees looked miserable all the time. (especially the servers at the buffet) Aside from the front desk the only interaction that we did have with a GO was the lifeguard at the Zen pool. The pool was vacant and my partner received a phone call that is when the lifeguard started telling my partner that phones were not allowed in this area ,and that we was not allowed to speak because it was a Zen area. I reiterate that we were the only ones at the pool except for her. As it had been raining. I want to mention that she was reading her book, so I guess we were disturbing her, Another experience we had was at dinner. We went to the buffet and I sat at a table for four even though we were only two. The section was empty except for another couple sitting two tables down and the waitress came over and told me that I had to move to the table right next to me because it was a two seater table. I asked her if she was serious because the whole section was empty and it was 21:00 she said yes ! the next morning at the buffet it was the same server. My partner decided to sit down at a table in her section and that is when she started yelling at him that he had to move to a different section while she was standing about 30 to 40 feet away from him in the restaurant, he did not understand why he had to move to another section because yet again there were still people eating in the section that he sat in, and she continued to yell at him in front of all the other clients. This behaviour is totally uncalled for in any level of customer service! We went to see the reception again and asked to speak to a manager to make a complaint about the server that we had had at the buffet and asked for a update after they had spoken to her. they told us they would get back to us they never did.. To continue with the review of the buffet if you have children, they offer chicken nuggets and fries for six out of the seven days for your children and the seven day they had chicken burgers with fries. It seemed that they recycled their leftover food, as in one day. It will be tuna steak the next day it will be tuna tartar,and the third day will be tuna salad. The food is definitely not up to par with any of the other Clubmed I have visited, for example, Clubmed. Turks and Caicos, we have been served beef Wellington, crab legs,, large scallops. Here many nights you only had a fish or pork option. Also on their seafood night. They had shrimp with the head and shell still on as well as scampi that were the same size of the shrimp and overcooked. That was the fanciest the buffet got for us! Also, if you do not drink wine and do not want water or orange juice, you are out of luck! You have to walk out of the restaurant and go to the bar to get a cola or a juice of any other sort because they do not offer any drinks at the buffet and they won’t get it for you. which is kind of ridiculous. Considering that I have read reviews that date back four years and it is still a problem that has not been fixed even though the response of Clubmed is that they will let their management in the kitchen know about the problem. I should mention that the one à la carte restaurant that they have AllAMANDA. The food options are very limited, but the quality is better than the buffet. Also, the service is a lot more professional, even though they could use some polishing, for example forgetting bread, forgetting drink, orders. It should be mentioned that children are allowed at the à la carte restaurant. Also, my partner was physically sick on 3 occasions that were not consecutive days and myself 2 times. After reading other people’s reviews, I am expecting a politically correct ChatGPT generated response from Clubmed. Hopefully I will be wrong. I would like to mention that I do have the names of the GO’s that I spoke about. As well as pictures of everything I have written about. I will not post them in a public forum out of respect, but if someone from Clubmed would like to contact me for those pictures and names, I will be happy to provide them.. We will NEVER come back to Clubmed Guadalupe. But we will enjoy other club destinations that are more up to Clubmed standards. our room did not live up to our expectation. the curtains didnt close completely so we had to use masking tape to fill the gaps... and still didnt do much use. Our child of 22 months would wake up as soon as the light of the sun would come in the room :( ! Us parents didnt have much sleep. our little one wakes up at 8-9 am daily....the how time of our stay, she would wake up upon sunrise. So our yearly family vacation... wasnt much of a vacation :(

What happened to Cub Med? No vibe
Outstanding location and beautiful weather. Good food and nice rooms. However, we were disappointed by the lack of vibe in the village. GOs not present for meals and not overly friendly when present. We stayed at La Caravelle last year for 2 weeks as well and the experience was way better.

The hotel needs a facelift
Everything was great the experience, the food and the activities, but the hotel itself is seriously outdated and the rooms need a serious facelift. They are not to the standard you would expect from a Club Med.
