Wish I was at an American resort
Nice hotel with good views and clean rooms. There was no "REAL" coffee offered in the dining area. There was no soda offered in the dining area. There was only 1 bar. There was only 1 pool with no pool bar. The alcohol was subpar and to ask for a "Jack and Coke" was met with the deer in the headlights look. If you do not speak French stay away; nobody speaks English. The food was good with cheese and bread being very scrumptious, along with the deserts. The water activities were very good, the beach was nice and the water very clear. You do not need water shoes here. If you are an American I would say don't come here; however if you are French you will most likely enjoy the trip.

Written by: v_roniquet910 - Montreal, Canada - May 10, 2024Excellent Family Vacation
All in all, a fantastic vacation at Club Med Martinique. This was our fourth Club Med having previously visited Guadeloupe, Ixtapa and Punta Cana. The village is spread out and never felt crowded. We much prefer this all-inclusive village style over rows and rows of hotels lining a beach. Yes, it can be quite the walk from the water sports hut to the paddle courts but it's a beautiful one. A lot of activities on offer so there was never a dull moment. We did 1 organized offsite excursion by speedboat that was amazing and we rented a car one day to visit rhum and banana plantations. The room: Even though we did not have a "renovated room", we were very happy with our 700 series room on the top floor with a beautiful sea view. To be honest, I don't think even the more upscale rooms had this view! Our rooms were clean, the AC worked well, so did the safe, the beds were comfortable, and the shower was great! We even had a drying rack in the shower which was nice to dry wet bathing suits. Our housekeeper, Danielle, was simply amazing! In fact, all the housekeeping staff we would run into were always smiling and cheerful. The food: The main buffet was good but we've definitely had better at other Clubs. There was variety and certainly something for everyone. We never had to fight to find a table and spent most of our time in the beach front dining room. Self service for most drinks and don't be shy to ask the server to leave the bottle of wine if you plan to have more than one glass. The table service restaurant, le Lo, requires reservations made at breakfast and they seem to only take 80-100 guests a night (if they are open). Unless you plan to spend extra for the Lobster or Steak, I'd give it a pass. While it was nice to be served, and it was a quieter atmosphere, the food at the buffet was better. The GOs: To be fair, I think week we were there was the last week for many GOs and a transition was taking place. Our kids enjoyed the Teen Club even though it wasn't well advertised. Our previous experience at other Clubs certainly helped here so we knew it existed and sought it out as many GO's were unaware one was running the week we were there. The GO's who ran the snorkeling and evening sunset paddle board excursions were great. Water skiing is a highlight at this Club and lineups were short as they ran two boats with your choice of skis and wakeboards. That said, the GOs at this Club were not as engaging as our previous experiences. The Beach: Amazing! Snorkeling right off the resort and their iconic dock is excellent. We never had trouble finding chairs and a shady spot and even took part in some ocean aquafit. While we had water shoes, many guests did not and seemed fine if they stayed in the sandy sections. We definitely saw sea urchins in the corals and seaweed areas. As for "sand fleas/mosquitos", this was never an issue though there were warnings everywhere. We'd be gone by 6pm and while we were bitten a few times, nothing unexpected for a tropical location. Final thoughts: We didn't go to any of the shows or spend much time at the bar or pool for a variety of reasons. Primarily we'd be exhausted from our day walking into town, water sports, etc, but we also didn't find there was much of a party atmosphere like at other Clubs. The few times we'd be at the bar, it was understaffed and we were a bit put off by all the smokers. It was also very hot and we just wanted to retire to our air conditioned room. Same with the pool, not much activity taking place there, not a lot of shade, and the beach was right there! There is also no drink service anywhere. You have to go and get it yourself and bring it back. Finally, the towel service is odd and not located close to the pool or beach and closes at 6pm!

Martinique
Club Med Les Boucaniers was average. Stayed there from May 26 to June 1st, 2023. Almost forgot to review it. Not sure much has changed in the past year. Overall resort was clean, lust gardens and little pathways that link everything together. The beach is turquoise and there are many multiple beach locations to choose from. Chairs were a slight issue - had to wake up early (7am) to reserve some for a group of 4. The room was small and had a musty smell (like most Caribbean resorts). The washroom was outdated, but everything functioned well. Water pressure was good. Hot water not an issue. Decent balcony with ocean views. Air conditioning was terrible. It was May and temperatures outdoors between 29-33C, and the room never went below 23-24C (we bring a little portable thermostat when we travel). The humidity was also above 65%. It’s a central air system and very outdated, so you have no control. The only downside to staying at ClubMed: the resort needs renovations. The food was good; lots of options at lunch breakfast and dinner. The cheeses are imported from France and delicious. The menu follows a very French dynamic. Fruits and vegetables plentiful. Pastries, abundant and fresh everyday. Ice cream station was a plus! There was no air conditioning in the buffet seating area, the indoor area had fans which cooled down t area a little, but mainly we were sitting there eating as fast as we could because we were sweating, which is not fun. The outdoor options had sea breeze but birds and flies. Your choice. Can’t imagine what it’s like in peak summer season heat. There was also a lack of restaurants in between eating hours. I guess the French enjoy meals and not snack time. We were hungry when we first arrived as our flight landed at 4-5pm and we hadn’t eaten all day. We were told there would be an appetizers at 6pm in the front of the main bar, it was chips, olives and bread. No chance of getting a meal under the buffet opened at 7pm sharp. Very odd given it’s an all inclusive resort, we should be able to eat whenever we want. The entertainment with GOs is different vibe from normal resorts. It was our first club med and I can say it won’t be our last. Everyday there is an activity schedule, walks, yoga, Zumba, hikes around the area - a very well diversified activity list. The gym was very well air conditioned (thank god) and recently renovated. Cardio machines, free weights, a bunch of other machines. Overall, it was a fun trip. Would recommend if they fix a few issues like air conditioning in rooms and eating areas and add more restaurants for in between meal eating. Les Salines beach right next door is gorgeous and worth a trip for a day!

From the moment we arrived at Club Med Buccaneer’s Creek, it was clear that our vacation was going to be extraordinary, largely due to the incredible leadership of More Zimbris, the Chief of Village. Under More’s management, the resort exuded a welcoming and vibrant atmosphere, making every guest feel like part of a grand, festive family. More’s attention to detail and commitment to guest satisfaction were evident in every aspect of our stay. From the impeccably maintained grounds to the smooth operation of dining and activities, everything was top-notch. More personally ensured that all guests had memorable experiences, often going above and beyond to accommodate special requests and ensure everyone felt valued. What stood out most was More’s ability to connect with guests. Her genuine warmth and enthusiasm made our stay not just a pleasure, but a truly personal experience. Her team mirrors her professionalism and dedication, clearly reflecting her leadership and passion. Thank you, More Zimbris, for making our visit to Club Med Buccaneer’s Creek unforgettable. We came seeking relaxation and leaving with lasting memories, all thanks to your exceptional hospitality. We can’t wait to follow you to your next resort. Kol ha-kavod
