32 Years as a Guest — And I’ve Never Seen Guest Care This Low
I have been a Club Med guest since 1994, and unfortunately I could clearly notice a change in management — for the worse. In the past, guest care came first; today the focus seems to be purely on profit, with little regard for customer loyalty. Restaurant: The main restaurant gets very crowded, and food replenishment often lags behind — at peak times, even plates run out. My advice: avoid peak hours, which are usually the first hour after opening. The food itself is reasonable and the variety is very good, but premium cuts are missing at the barbecue station, for example. Customer service: Practically non-existent. I contacted them before my arrival and the response showed zero effort in caring for the guest. My recommendation: call the sales channel and book directly with them, because booking online you risk ending up in a room far from the common areas. Room and maintenance: I stayed in a Junior Suite (room 106), which is well located. However, the suite flooded one night due to a water leak from the dehumidifier. Maintenance had to come to my room three times for different issues (loose towel racks, burned-out light bulb). Room maintenance clearly leaves a lot to be desired. Check-in / check-out: Don’t expect early check-in or late check-out — the front desk makes no effort to please guests. Also, check-in starts at 3 pm, but if you arrive at 3 pm sharp there is a real chance your room won’t be ready and you’ll have to wait. Power outages: The power goes out repeatedly throughout the day, which gets quite annoying. The hotel does have a generator, so outages are brief, but the constant interruptions are yet another sign that things aren’t running as they should. Staff: The employees are generally friendly, but you will notice many of them are overworked and visibly unhappy in several areas, especially the restaurant. Corporate groups: Another downside is the presence of corporate group events. When the groups are in the restaurant, there are lines for everything and it becomes unbearable. My tip: go in the exact opposite direction of the groups. Bottom line: The infrastructure is still good, the beach is excellent and so are the pools. But the resort lacks maintenance, attention to the guest and proper customer service channels. I recommend it for a vacation, with reservations. If you’re looking for a peaceful place with less chaos, Club Med Rio das Pedras is definitely not for you.

i loovee this place! its the 5th time that i come here! i enjoyed spending time with Dory and Jhon (teachers from the teens club)and i made lots of friends, and we played a lot together and did lots of games! that was such an amazing trip!

Amazing and fun stay with family
Everything during our stay was great. There are plenty of activities to do. We did the trekking with Luiza and she was amazing, very friendly and fun, always attentive making sure everyone was doing fine.
