The best ski experience you could ever have
We just had a wonderful experience. The staff and amenities are excellent. The food is exquisite. I wanted to thank Eléa and Kristal at the baby's club who made our trip very enjoyable. They took the time to take care of our 2yo baby girl. Hope to see you all soon

Wonderful week
A great week snowboarding and skiing. Lucky with the snow conditions as was the last week of the season. Enough snow, just, but 5 days of sunshine and really enjoyed our stay. Would recommend Club Med highly. Excellent staff, resort, food, hotel generally and they really take care of you A+

Dangerously Poor Childcare
Dangerously Poor Childcare: My 5-year-old was left alone and then able to leave the Mini Club without a parent or in fact anyone signing her out. Approximately 5 hours later (and after Mini Club had closed) they hadn’t even noticed that she’d gone without being signed out. I dread to think what could have happened. It is the stuff of nightmares… Fortunately her 11-year-old brother spotted her, took her up to the room and called me. There were also many equipment problems: - On the first day despite having new goggles in a case in her bag, she was sent out in a random pair of sunglasses. The new padded Bliz goggle case was never found. - During the week helmet and goggles were lost, wrongly replaced with 2 other different coloured ill-fitting helmets and random goggles, found, then goggles given to some other child for convenience without my permission even though attached to her named helmet, then finally both found correctly by me not Club Med as they were too busy to look even after hours. I spotted them on a child coming out the door who said yes someone gave him these as he’d lost his and immediately passed them to me. (These items should not have been easy to lose as big named items). They are safety gear, eye protection and correct size helmet is important and there are hygiene/sunscreen allergy issues to consider. Also, my kids’ new stuff should not be getting loaned to other kids because staff are too busy/lazy to resolve properly etc. Club Med should check kit bags and have some specific loan materials available not borrow from other customers creating further problems.) - On Saturday when we picked up her skis from Mini Club to go skiing as a family, I found that my 5-year old’s skis had been incorrectly paired so the left ski had her name sticker, but right side had someone else’s name sticker on it. She spotted it. I hope that issue was only an end of Friday issue, but who knows… obviously skis are adjusted for boot size and weight and skill levels etc and shouldn’t be muddled. - A ski glove was also lost on Friday. So basically, we spent hours of holiday time chasing down stuff I would never have lost in the first place if I handed my child to ESF myself rather than used the Mini Club. It is ridiculous, administratively annoying, but also dangerous and poor care for her equipment to have been muddled or lost as well. I have not been impressed by Club Med management responses to date. I don't envisage them fixing this quickly. It is a shame as it's a nice hotel and area otherwise, but for me the poor and dangerous mini club makes it all not worth the risk /stress /trouble.

Cutbacks, ineffective management, cramped rooms and poor food quality - not the club med we know
We’re a large group of returning Club Med guests. We return year after year because we love the concept — which is precisely why Alpe d’Huez was so disappointing. Accommodation - Rooms were much smaller than anywhere we’ve stayed — so cramped our suitcases had to be stored in the loo! 4 people shared one bathroom despite booking interconnecting rooms. A stressful start and end to every ski day. Dining - Restaurant far too small for the size of the hotel, with not enough tables. Fewer food stations, less plated food options, buffets running out and constant queues. Every mealtime was a battle. We emailed a week before arrival to request a reserved table as a group — refused, yet other tables were visibly reserved all week. Every mealtime meant a stressful hunt for seats. By the end of the week we were dreading dinner. That single failure coloured the entire trip. Staff were overstretched and we regularly had to fetch our own wine. Staffing and Management - Understaffed everywhere — long queues at reception, the bar and food stations throughout the day. The restaurant managers were all smiles at the door and utterly ineffective behind it. When we tried to resolve the table situation ourselves we were met with rudeness that left us embarrassed in front of fellow guests. The GM was on the dance floor while the bar staff couldn’t cope. Pre-arrival emails were ignored and had to be chased — then dismissed anyway. All surface, no substance. Outdoor areas - Outdoor pool closed. Scarce sunbeds which guests had to drag outside themselves. Insufficient terrace seating despite ample space. Ski School - Our instructor was brilliant but rightly frustrated. Group sizes were raised from 10 to 12 through cutbacks — ours ran to 13 or 14 all week. His manager’s response when he escalated it: tough. People got lost on the mountain. This is a safety issue, not just a quality one. Atmosphere - No children’s area meant bouncy castles in the bar. No après-ski on the slope outside the boot room — everything pushed into an already overcrowded terrace, making the queues and bottlenecks even worse. In Summary These failures — management, staffing, dining, communication, safety — don’t feel accidental. They feel like decisions. We were asked to write this review and have done so honestly, but it will likely receive a polite reply and nothing will change! No action, no goodwill gesture, no recognition of customers who between them have spent tens of thousands of pounds with this brand over many years. That is a very poor way to treat loyal guests who bring new families to Club Med year after year. We have 2027 booked, but our confidence is seriously dented. A meaningful response and genuine gesture of goodwill would go a long way. Without it, it is very hard to see why we should remain loyal.
