Some room for improvement
It was my first Club Med experience and I expected a little more. More cleanness, more details. The bathtub was not very clean, there were still hairs. The skirting boards were very dusty. They only have a bathtub, no walk-in shower. There is a rainshower, no adjustable rod for the shower head, but they don’t have shower caps. So when I don’t want to wash my hair every night, it’s not convenient. But overall it was not bad.

For the first three days we complained of a terrible smell in our room making it difficult to breathe at times. Our reports were dismissed until on the fourth night I refused to leave until it was properly investigated. The technical team discovered a leak in a pipe running by our room and moved us. They offered a refund for the first three days. I became ill on the fourth and could not ski. The central office didn’t honour the three day refund and stated the better room compensated for the issue. I’m unhappy with the safety standards at this resort and would not return.

There are better options for this price
Positives: Ski in / ski out. Outdoor jacuzzi, sauna. Negatives: Price. It is amazingly expensive for what you get. This is not a 5 star hotel. It is a family resort with thousands of children running around, and huge lines at breakfast, and the food is nothing to write home about. You would pay a lot less and eat much better going to a restaurant rather than paying the all-inclusive fees. The transfer from Geneva to Tignes (return) was quoted by Club Med at EUR 2,100. We booked a private transfer online and paid EUR 700 (for a family of 6). Unfortunately we did rent our ski equipment with Club Med and paid for boot and ski rental EUR 1,300 (family of 6). But just across the road it was EUR 425. And the worst thing is that on top of the EUR 1,300 they added a 'premium ski' fee for the ski rent as they supposedly gave us 'premium' skis, which we never asked for!! And now they refuse to give us back the money overcharged. And as for the sauna and outdoor jacuzzi, it's great to have, but they kick you out at 7pm, so if you ski till 5/5:30, your usage time is very limited. We had a fantastic week of skiing, but we would certainly never go back to the Club Med Tignes. There are cheaper and better options for this amount of money.
