An Unforgettable Family Vacation Thanks to an Extraordinary Team
Traveling with a large family is never easy. Our trip included grandparents, young children, a baby, Korean family members, and American family members—all with different expectations, different languages, and different needs. We wondered if it would even be possible for everyone to have an equally enjoyable experience. Club Med Tomamu exceeded every expectation. Not a single member of our family felt left out or uncomfortable during our stay. Everyone—from the youngest child to the grandparents—left with incredible memories. While the beautiful resort certainly helped, what truly made this vacation unforgettable was the people. Logan Lee deserves our highest recognition. His leadership, attention to detail, and genuine care for our family made an incredible difference throughout our entire stay. He consistently checked in with us, anticipated our needs, and made sure every detail was taken care of. His level of hospitality completely changed our impression of what excellent service looks like. In fact, because of Logan's outstanding care and the experience he created for us, my wife is now actively looking into Club Med membership and exploring other Club Med destinations around the world for our future family vacations. That alone says everything about the impact he had on our experience. We would also like to give special recognition to Heenie at the reception. Club Med offers so many activities and programs that it can initially feel overwhelming, especially for first-time guests. Heenie patiently explained everything, continued checking in with us throughout our stay, and made what could have been a confusing experience feel simple, organized, and relaxing. Hilda was equally exceptional. What impressed me most was that she often noticed what we needed before I even had to ask. It genuinely felt as though she could read our minds. Whether it was preparing something in advance or offering help at exactly the right moment, her attentiveness was extraordinary and made us feel truly cared for. We would also like to sincerely thank Ahmed, Ivo, Danny, Liz, and Miyu. Every interaction with them reflected professionalism, kindness, and genuine hospitality. Despite the different languages and cultural backgrounds of our family, every team member treated us with warmth, respect, and made communication feel effortless. They created an environment where we always felt comfortable and welcome. We've stayed at many resorts over the years, but what makes Club Med Tomamu truly exceptional isn't just the scenery, the facilities, or the activities. It's the people. Thank you, Logan, Heenie, Hilda, Ahmed, Ivo, Danny, Liz, Miyu, and the entire Club Med Tomamu team for giving our family memories that we will cherish for a lifetime. We are already looking forward to coming back.

I had a lot of fun this trip, i was there for 3 nights, staff was great, and it wasn’t too crowded. Food was one of my favorite, and their main dining hall was big and had a lot of options. There was activity to do all day if you wanted. One of the staff, Cara, was awesome, she was the counselor for the teens club and made it really fun. She played tennis, volleyball with us and it was a great time. She really made it a lot more fun for me!

We love Tomamu
We had an amazing stay. The venue in summer was stunning and the range of summer activities were fabulous. The staff go above and beyond and the food and beverages are excellent. We totally immersed ourselves in Club Med Tomamu and as a family destination it rates highly.

Terrible experience; must be black-listed.
I couldn’t have imagined a worse experience at Club Med Tomamu. First of all, I made a booking on 21-June for stay on 9-July, but nobody had contacted me with pre-arrival details including transfers and any child amenities until I reached out to call the hotel on 6-July. This made my travelling with a 2.5 year old kid very challenging. Secondly, the hotel felt like run by temporary staff who not only did not know their guests, but they did not know their product neither. Our G.O told us that Haku the yakiniku restaurant was closed on Thursday, but turned out it was open. I had only known about this when I bumped into my friend who checked in on the same day but managed to make a booking. She also didn’t even know where the lights in the room were when she showed the room. Thirdly, the room felt damp and the bed sheets and blanket covers had a smell of dampness at night. We had asked for a change yet the problem remained the same on the same night. The next day we asked for inspection again and was advised that it was because ventilation was not on before we had arrived. This was not revealed in time and we had to endure a night of damp and stuffy amenities. Last but not least, even the check-out experience was horrible: - Somebody came to us at 11:30am asking to pick up our luggage. We said we were not ready, so please come back at 12 - At 12:03 nobody came, but housekeeping came asking to make the room. We told her no need to make the room but could she call the luggage desk for us. She said she didn’t speak Japanese or English (she spoke Chinese) and asked us to call ourselves - At 12:03 we called, nobody came - At the same time I saw our GO’s messages that were not in sync with the situation - At 12:08 still nobody came and I called again asking for help - At 12:12 We decided to just do it ourselves as we didn’t want to be late Above was on top of horrible quality of food at Itara the all-day dining restaurant, which was worse than that served in a college canteen and with very restricted hours. The silver lining that salvaged our trip was the proximity to the Hoshino Resorts Tomamu, which allowed us to have proper food towards the latter part of the stay.

Almost Family
Everything about the Club Med experience in Tomamu is the best version of a family vacation. From the moment we arrived, the staff knew to expect us and could communicate bilingually both in English and Mandarin, and Logan, the GM, took the time to welcome us. After a smooth check-in process, we went to the courtyard where there were local snacks such as takoyaki and kids favorites (marshmallows!) with lively music. I even got to go on the flying trapeze! On our first night, we had a medical emergency with our baby. The nurse and medical staff helped guide us through the process and checked in repeatedly throughout the following days to ensure there were no continuing issues. Martin, specifically, helped arrange carry-out dinner and coordinated with reception to get us a taxi to the hospital. The nurse prepared a note in the local language that we could present to the hospital staff to make the process smooth. Owen (who we met previously in Phuket) was always pleasant when meeting us for breakfast and lunch. Mai, the Family Manager, helped reassure us when we were nervous about our older child attending the Petit Club. A special shoutout to Ayang (Googoogaga Teacher), Pristy, and Nanaka for making it a memorable trip for our son. So good, in fact, that he was willing to participate in the stage show! What could have easily been an unpleasant experience following the medical emergency became a wonderful sojourn. Club Med is quickly becoming like a second family, and I've already started planning my next trip.
