Introduction of Mandatory ETIAS Permit for Travels to Europe

Starting at the end of 2026, every Canadian traveler planning to visit Europe will be required to possess an ETIAS permit. This is the European Travel Information and Authorization System, implemented by the European Union.

Please note that this permit costs 7 euros per person, and the process can take up to 30 days for approval.

Amazing experience at Club Med Cefalu, Italy

My wife in I enjoyed a week at the Club Med in Cefalu, Sicily. Having been only once before in a Club Med resort (skiing last year) which was also an amazing experience with Club Med - we decided to give a Mediterranean holiday a whirl. The Viletas rooms are lovely-big and comfortable-kept very clean and daily change of towels-stocked minibar (it’s an all inclusive) the food at the restaurant is incredibly good - different each day and a lot of fresh vegetables. Fish is A+ as is their meat and the deserts are dangerously good. Service at reception and on the tennis court and daily workouts are all well manned with instructors who are true professionals. Anyone thinking of enjoying Italy - I recommend giving Club Med in Cefalu a try. Special as mentions: at reception Juliet and Victoria- outside tours Jo - Lena in the gym and work outs- LULU sommelier in the restaurant.

Amazing experience!

What a magical place! The food is to die for, the views are stunning and just being 10-15 minutes away to Cefalu town in Sicily is something very special. We loved our room and all the facilities! We can't wait to go back!

Amazing Views, But Not the True Club Med Experience

Club Med Cefalù is set in a truly stunning location, beautifully maintained, with villa-style rooms that are comfortable and of good quality. The food is excellent, and one of the highlights is the ability to walk to Cefalù along the seaside—a lovely experience. However, some aspects did not meet expectations. The G.O team was not always friendly or present, and the Chef de Village was essentially invisible throughout the stay. As a result, there was very little atmosphere, and the usual Club Med spirit was noticeably missing in this Exclusive Collection resort. I strongly recommend choosing a villa with a sea view, as other room locations can be hit-or-miss and may lack privacy. Overall, the setting and dining are wonderful, but the signature Club Med energy and engagement are unfortunately lacking at Cefalù.

What a happy place to be...

We loved the vibe of the resort and haven't been on a holiday like it. The enthusiasm and effort the staff went to to bring the feel good factor was incredible. From tennis lessons to pasta contests to mozzarella festivals to the spectacular evening entertainment all hosted by Club Med staff. Our son has a nut allergy and we chose Club Med thinking it was predominantly a la carte. However the beach restaurant was closed and the palazzo had same menu every night. So, our only choice was the buffet. However, Andrea and his team bent over backwards to keep him safe. Special shout out to Sous Chef Cozmin who was on hand to talk us through every meal, really understanding the seriousness of the matter. Even when he was off duty it wasn't a problem! Another shout out has to go to the enthusiasm and welcoming nature of Ivan in welcoming our 8 year old son to the bar...they became best friends by the end of the trip...what a character! Thanks also to Manu who was great with the tennis lessons and Thomasso for his general friendliness throughout all the land sports. Finally, everyone who is behind the scenes...they may not grab the headlines but you should all be very proud of your efforts guys...keep up the good work!

French Speaking Resort

So , where to start . We first arrived at club med to be greeted with French which of course threw me a bit as i thought Cefalu was in Italy . All entertainment is in french , ill admit there may be a sentence or two in English ie ladies and gentleman the pasta contest is starting and then 15/20 mins in French . Now someone whos been learning Italian since lockdown because i think it ignorant to epct people in another country to speak my language and like to practice my bad Italian , but i guess this was not the place . Just and FYI , If you want to make your non speaking French guests feel unwelcome than this is it , to put it into context i'm the guy who ends up on stage with can can dancers in universal studios America dancing in front of hundreds of people so im always looking to get involved with stuff , we never felt included with anything regarding entertainment even though we paid the exact same amount as everyone else we didn't get the same level of service .including evening entertainment and daytime . I appreciate this is not a club med issue they are who they are, we booked this holiday through British airways which is more on them selling to British tourists we had no clue this being a mainly French speaking resort , when i asked why everyone spoke French to the reception i was told its a French company and near France....erm wrong on both accounts but ok , so in theory all Starbucks and MacDonalds should be speaking English /American only no matter where they are based in Paris MacDonalds /Starbucks only speak in English , not sure that would go down to well but anyway . Resort its self was beautiful , ideal location 20/30 min walk from the main Cerfalu town . Rooms were basic more 3 star than 4 , our room had some issues we had to raise with the staff , asking them to refill the coffee and sugars and shower gel as that was forgotten a few times in our 10 day stay and things like bathroom bin was unusable. Staff are split into two types , Italian and French one set of staff will greet you with a smile and hello , the others wont even acknowledge you most of the time , i kid you not , wont even look up from their phones as you approach. Food was buffet and one restaurant an a la carte of sorts . we did go in October so didn't expect the seafront restaurant to be open all the time but it was not open once while we stayed We didn't finish the mains in the a la carte and didn't wait for the desert as my vegan partner who had provided dietary requirements was given a bowl of fruit as an option only , that was it , so we thought to head to the buffet to grab something else .Buffet was ok , mis between French and Italian food quality was good i felt . The excursion they offer are pricey but we enjoyed them as we had a fantastic guide who jumped from French to Italian to English seamlessly which was a nice change but at 200 per head for some excursions id expect that level of service to be honest. in short resort was nicely located and quite pretty but if you don't speak French then don't bother this resort is not catered for you . please don't find out the hard way as we did .
