Introduction of Mandatory ETIAS Permit for Travels to Europe

Starting at the end of 2026, every Canadian traveler planning to visit Europe will be required to possess an ETIAS permit. This is the European Travel Information and Authorization System, implemented by the European Union.

Please note that this permit costs 7 euros per person, and the process can take up to 30 days for approval.

It is also mandatory to have a passport that remains valid for at least 3 months after your departure date from Europe. Without this, entry at the European border will be denied.

Arrival in São Miguel – Ponta Delgada

  • Ponta Delgada is the capital of the Portuguese archipelago of the Azores and the largest city on the island of São Miguel, located on the south coast. Once a fishing village that became a busy port, it is now the economic, administrative and university centre of the autonomous region of the Azores.

Sete Cidades
  • Scenic drive to Sete Cidades.
  • Sete Cidades is a volcanic caldera located in the west of the island of São Miguel, in the Portuguese archipelago of the Azores. It is one of the country’s most iconic natural sites, famous for its two twin lakes, Lagoa Azul and Lagoa Verde, whose contrasting colours create one of the most photographed landscapes in Portugal.

Set in the heart of an ancient volcanic caldera, it is famous for its intense geothermal activity, hot springs, and lush landscapes. The site is one of the island’s major tourist hubs for thermal bathing, hiking, and observing volcanic phenomena.

East Coast and Nordeste

Tea Plantation and North Coast
