Essaouira Valley Excursion ($)

Ourika Valley

Full-day excursion to the Ourika Valley to discover the waterfalls and Berber villages.

Day 5

Tour in the Agafay Desert ($)

Go on a safari and spend an unforgettable afternoon and evening in the Agafay Desert, also known as the Marrakech Desert! Traverse the desert on a quad bike and watch the sunset on the back of a camel. Admire belly dancers as well as Moroccan folklore, and enjoy a delicious Moroccan dinner. Departure from your place of residence around 4:00 PM (30 min journey). Upon arrival at the Agafay Desert, you will start with a 60-minute quad ride, followed by a 60-minute camel ride. After the sunset, settle around a campfire and enjoy the traditional atmosphere of southern Morocco. Traditional Moroccan dinner.

Free time in Marrakech

Free time in Marrakech! Go out in the evening to see the market and the grand medina. Shows, songs, and food are on the agenda.

Day 7

Marrakech

Free time for last-minute shopping or further exploration of the city.

Departure from Marrakech

Transfer to Marrakech airport for your departure flight.

This itinerary gives you a varied overview of Morocco, combining the liveliness of Marrakech, the relaxation of Essaouira, the natural beauty of the Ourika Valley, the history of Ait Ben Haddou, and the adventure in the desert of Merzouga. You can adjust the activities according to your personal preferences.

Transportation

A frequently considered option by tourists, the taxi is a very popular mode of transportation in Morocco. Like the bus, it’s a rather fun experience because you can negotiate for the first time in Morocco. Your driver will expect it, and everyone is constantly negotiating to get around Marrakech.

Here are also the approximative taxi rates in Marrakech:

Going to the medina: around 150 Dh.
Going to the Palmeraie of Marrakech: around 200 Dh.

It’s also important to know that there are several types of taxis in Marrakech:

Green taxis: If you’re not a fan of negotiating, call a green taxi! The drivers are required to use the meter, and the set prices are always honest. In fact, the rates are generally displayed on the windshield: for a trip from the medina to the Palmeraie, it will cost around 100 Dh, for example. There is a number to contact the green taxis: 05 24 40 94 94.
Small taxis: They are only allowed to operate within the city, and you will need to negotiate the price before getting in the vehicle.
Grand taxis: They can leave the city but their rates are higher. They don’t have a meter, so you will need to negotiate the price before leaving. In general, the drivers of grand taxis drive Mercedes cars.
