This trip to Armenia offers an itinerary rich in contrasts, combining heritage, nature and traditions. You will begin in Yerevan, the vibrant capital, before continuing to Goris and its spectacular landscapes and rock formations. Jermuk will offer you the opportunity to relax in a renowned spa town known for its mineral springs. The tour will continue to Dilijan, nicknamed the “Little Switzerland of Armenia,” then to Ijevan, in the heart of a lush and authentic region. You will then discover Haghpat, a cultural gem listed as a World Heritage Site, where monasteries and panoramic views come together. - Transfer to the hotel, check-in and overnight stay.
- The day will begin with a visit to Armenia’s vibrant capital, Yerevan, one of the oldest cities in the world, whose roots date back to 782 BC. Nicknamed “the Pink City,” Yerevan charms visitors with its distinctive architecture made of pink volcanic tuff stone, which gives the entire city a warm, rosy hue.
- Our walking tour will take us to the heart of Yerevan, beginning at Republic Square, followed by the iconic Yerevan Opera House and picturesque Swan Lake. We will then head to Northern Avenue, the city’s most modern and lively street, before reaching the Cascade, a monumental staircase adorned with remarkable works of art at every level. As we climb, we will admire the panoramic view of Yerevan and biblical Mount Ararat from the top of the monument.
- We will then visit the History Museum of Armenia, where we will discover the country’s rich traditions and cultural heritage through fascinating exhibits spanning from antiquity to the modern era. We will then proceed to the Armenian Genocide Memorial, a solemn place of remembrance and reflection dedicated to the victims of the tragic events of 1915.
- The day will end with a warm folkloric dinner, featuring a selection of traditional Armenian specialties accompanied by a performance of folk dances and music, allowing visitors to fully immerse themselves in the local culture and traditions.

- After breakfast at the hotel, we will start our day with a visit to the famous Ararat brandy distillery. There, we will taste some of the finest Armenian brandies, renowned worldwide for their rich flavour and history. This tasting will offer an insight into the centuries-old brandy-making traditions that have contributed to the fame of Armenian brandy.
- We will then travel to Etchmiadzin, the spiritual heart of the Armenian Apostolic Church and one of the first Christian cathedrals, dating back to 303 AD. This sacred site, also listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is steeped in history and tradition. We will stroll through the monastic complex, explore its remarkable architecture and discover its role in Armenia’s spiritual and cultural heritage.
- After visiting Etchmiadzin, we will set out to discover the ancient ruins of Zvartnots, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a masterpiece of 7th-century Armenian architecture. Even in its ruined state, this unique architectural structure bears witness to its rare and majestic beauty, as well as its architectural elegance and cultural significance.
- For dinner, we will be welcomed into a local home for an authentic culinary experience, including a dolma and sujukh preparation workshop, two traditional Armenian specialities. Participants will have the opportunity to learn how to prepare these iconic dishes before enjoying a homemade meal rich in local flavours.
- Return to the hotel.
- After breakfast at the hotel, we will begin with a one-hour drive towards Khor Virap Monastery, one of the closest points to Mount Ararat. The name «Khor Virap» means «deep dungeon», referring to its history. The monastery was built above an underground dungeon where Saint Gregory the Illuminator was imprisoned for approximately fourteen years by the Armenian king Tiridates IV for spreading Christianity in Armenia. From the magnificent monastery, one can admire one of the most impressive views of biblical Mount Ararat.
- Our next stop will be Noravank Monastery, a true treasure of Armenian religious art. What makes it particularly unique is its two-storey church, a rarity in Armenian monastic architecture. Noravank is a must-see, not only for its cultural significance, but also for its spectacular location. The monastery’s breathtaking architecture contrasts strikingly with the red cliffs surrounding it.
- We will then visit the fascinating Areni Cave, an important archaeological site where the oldest known winery in the world was discovered during excavations carried out in 2011. This remarkable discovery includes a wine press, fermentation vats and ancient clay jars, offering an insight into winemaking traditions dating back more than 6,100 years.
- We will then continue to Goris, where we will enjoy a local dinner accompanied by a zhingyalov hats preparation workshop, a traditional Armenian speciality consisting of flatbread filled with vegetables and herbs. Participants will have the opportunity to learn how to prepare this iconic dish before tasting it.

- Today, we will begin our journey with a visit to Khndzoresk. A 14-ton suspension bridge connects Old Khndzoresk to New Khndzoresk. This 160-metre bridge spans a picturesque gorge of breathtaking beauty. Old Khndzoresk was one of the largest villages in eastern Armenia. It consisted of man-made caves in which the inhabitants lived until the 1950s.
- We will then travel to Tatev Monastery, one of the most astonishing sites in Armenia. It is built on the edge of a cliff and surrounded by breathtaking nature. The best way to reach this gem of medieval Armenian architecture is to take the «Wings of Tatev» cable car. Extending above the picturesque Vorotan River canyon, this cable car is listed in the Guinness World Records as the world’s longest reversible aerial tramway (5,752 m). During this impressive 12-minute journey, we will admire the gorge’s breathtaking landscapes.
- We will then visit the Armenian Stonehenge, known as Zorats Karer or Karahunj. According to archaeologists, it is one of the oldest observatories in the world, used for astronomical purposes in prehistoric times.
- We will continue to the spa town of Jermuk, famous for its hot mineral springs with healing properties. Free time to explore the spa town.

- We will begin our journey with a visit to the Old Bridge Winery, a true hidden gem on the Armenian wine scene. We will enjoy an exclusive wine-tasting experience, savouring a selection of exquisite local wines made from unique grape varieties native to Armenia. After this enjoyable stop, we will continue on to the Noraduz cemetery, the largest khachkar cemetery in the world. Khachkars (Armenian cross-stones) are among the most iconic symbols of Armenian culture and are included on UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage List. This ancient cemetery is home to approximately 900 khachkars, showcasing a wide variety of styles, from simple, rustic designs to highly elaborate works of art.
- On the way to Noraduz, we will also visit the Selim Caravanserai, an architectural gem dating from the 14th century, built along the Vardenyants Pass. This caravanserai once served as an essential stopover for merchants and their animals travelling along the Silk Road, connecting Europe with the Middle East.
- We will then visit the Mikayelyan Farm, where we will have the opportunity to take part in a cheese-making workshop. Participants will learn traditional Armenian cheese-making techniques and will then be able to taste their own creations accompanied by fresh local products.
- Later, we will travel to Sevanavank Monastery, located on the Sevan Peninsula. Reaching the monastery involves climbing a staircase, but the breathtaking view from the top is well worth the effort. Nicknamed the “blue pearl of Armenia,” Lake Sevan is one of the largest high-altitude freshwater lakes in the world. Finally, we will head to Dilijan, often called the “Armenian Switzerland” because of its lush forests and picturesque landscapes. The day will end with a special dinner featuring a gata-making workshop, focusing on a traditional Armenian pastry. Participants will learn how to prepare this iconic dessert before tasting it.

- This day will begin with the discovery of the green city of Dilijan. After a short visit to the old town, we will head to Goshavank Monastery. This medieval monastic complex, built in the 12th century, is named after the great Armenian scholar, historian and statesman Mkhitar Gosh. The monastery was once not only a religious centre, but also an important educational and cultural centre. Located in one of the most picturesque areas of Armenia, it offers a majestic setting. We will then visit Haghartsin Monastery, one of the country’s most mysterious sites, nestled in the heart of wooded mountains. The monastic complex offers an astonishing harmony between architecture and nature.
- We will continue on to Lake Parz, a small mountain lake renowned for its serene beauty. A walk around the lake will allow us to enjoy the surrounding landscapes and fresh mountain air.
- We will then visit the Ijevan Winery, famous for its wines made from unique local varieties. A tasting will be offered to discover the region’s winemaking expertise.
- Overnight in Ijevan.
- The day will begin with a visit to the city of Ijevan, famous for its green landscapes, handicrafts and welcoming atmosphere. Visitors will have the opportunity to discover the city’s main sights and immerse themselves in local life.
- We will then take part in a carpet-weaving workshop, an immersive experience in traditional Armenian craftsmanship. Participants will be able to observe age-old techniques, learn more about symbolic patterns and colours, and even try weaving a few pieces themselves under the guidance of local artisans.
- We will then travel to the village of Fioletovo, known for its Russian culture and artisanal tea production. A local tea tasting will be offered, providing a relaxing break amid picturesque landscapes.
- Finally, we will continue on to Haghpat, famous for its monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The medieval complex, founded in the 10th century, is a remarkable example of Armenian religious architecture and offers panoramic views of the surrounding valley.

- The day will begin with a visit to the Haghpat and Sanahin monasteries, both UNESCO World Heritage Sites founded in the 10th century. These medieval complexes were important educational and spiritual centres, bringing together churches, libraries and cloisters. Visitors will be able to admire the finely carved khachkars, ancient frescoes and impressive architecture, while enjoying panoramic views of the valley and surrounding mountains.
- The day will continue in Alaverdi, where a pottery workshop will offer an opportunity to discover local artisanal techniques and create pieces under the guidance of experienced craftspeople.
- Finally, we will travel to Gyumri, the second-largest city in Armenia, renowned for its historic architecture, museums and vibrant cultural life.

We will explore the city’s iconic squares, picturesque alleyways and streets lined with buildings featuring historic façades, witnesses to 19th-century architecture and Gyumri’s eventful history. Visitors will also have the opportunity to discover local handicrafts, artists’ workshops and traditional cafés that make Gyumri a vibrant cultural centre.
- We will then travel to the Marmashen Monastery, a magnificent religious complex dating back to the 10th century. Surrounded by a peaceful landscape, the monastery is renowned for its medieval Armenian architecture, finely carved churches and ornate khachkars. The visit will provide an opportunity to appreciate not only the site’s architectural beauty, but also the spiritual atmosphere it conveys.
- The day will conclude with dinner at Cherkez Restaurant, one of Gyumri’s iconic establishments, offering an authentic Armenian culinary experience. Visitors will be able to savour carefully prepared traditional dishes in a warm and friendly atmosphere, and discover the local culture through gastronomy.

- The day will begin with a visit to Harichavank Monastery, a magnificent medieval complex situated on a hill overlooking the surrounding valley. Founded between the 9th and 12th centuries, the monastery is renowned for its classical Armenian architecture, finely carved khachkars and the spiritual atmosphere emanating from its cloisters and churches.
- We will then stop in the village of Byurakan for lunch and to attend a performance of Armenian tales and rituals. Visitors will be invited to discover the local way of life and environment, as well as the region’s traditional dances and music, for an authentic immersion in Armenian culture.
- After this cultural and gastronomic experience, we will travel to Amberd Fortress, located on the slopes of Mount Aragats. Built in the 10th century, Amberd offers a unique combination of historical heritage and spectacular mountain landscapes. Visitors will be able to explore the fortress ruins and admire the panoramas of the valley and surrounding mountains.
- The day will end with the return to Yerevan, where participants will be able to enjoy a free evening after a programme rich in cultural and historical discoveries.

- The day will begin with a visit to the Armenian Alphabet Park, a unique place celebrating Armenian letters and writing, major symbols of the nation’s culture and identity. Visitors will be able to stroll among the sculptures representing each letter, admire the artworks highlighting the history of the Armenian alphabet and enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes.
- We will then head to Saghmosavank Monastery, located near the park. This medieval complex, dating from the 13th century, is renowned for its classical Armenian architecture and its historical role as a spiritual and educational centre. Overlooking the valley, the monastery offers a spectacular natural setting, ideal for taking photos and observing the surrounding nature.
- We will continue on to Tatoents Qotuk, a place where local traditions have been passed down from generation to generation. This unique location combines craftsmanship and winemaking. Visitors will be able to discover traditional artisanal techniques, enjoy a typical Armenian lunch and take part in a wine tasting featuring locally produced wines, while immersing themselves in the area’s history and expertise.
- We will end the day with a visit to Armenia Winery, where participants will discover traditional and modern winemaking methods as well as local grape varieties. A wine tasting will be offered, allowing them to appreciate the distinctive flavours of Armenia and the region’s winemaking expertise.
- The return to Yerevan will mark the end of the day. Visitors will then have free time to relax or explore the city at their own pace.

- After breakfast at the hotel, we will head to Geghard Monastery, one of the finest examples of medieval Armenian monastic architecture. This unique monastic complex, part of which is carved into the rock, is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The monastery bears the name Geghardavank, meaning “Monastery of the Spear”. According to legend, the apostle Saint Thaddeus brought here the spear with which a Roman soldier pierced the heart of the crucified Christ. The spear was kept in the monastery for approximately 500 years. It is now displayed at the Etchmiadzin Museum.
- The monastery has incredible acoustics, the secret of which has not yet been uncovered. Our next destination will be the pagan temple of Garni, one of the country’s most famous and important tourist attractions. The temple was built in the 1st century AD and was dedicated to Mihr, the Armenian pagan god of the Sun.
- We will then enjoy a local lunch accompanied by a lavash-baking workshop. Lavash is a traditional Armenian bread listed as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
- We will then return to Yerevan and visit Vernissage, an open-air market and exhibition space showcasing various Armenian artworks and handicrafts. There you will find a range of national souvenirs, carpets, bags, paintings, jewellery and other traditional items.
