On your way to Banff, make a stop in Canmore. Here you’ll find a variety of boutiques, art galleries, cafés and restaurants, ideal for shopping and sampling local specialties.

Lake Canmore offers a picturesque and relaxing walk. You can take a short stroll around the lake to enjoy the beautiful scenery and perhaps spot wildlife such as birds and deer.

To get to Banff, drive along the Bow Valley Parkway, which links Canmore to Banff. It’s a scenic route offering spectacular views of the mountains and valley. Check-in at your Banff hotel.

Easy hike: Johnston Canyon
This hike takes you through a spectacular canyon with hanging walkways and waterfalls.

Moderate: Moraine and Tourmente Pass
Start your hike at the famous Moraine Lake, where you can admire the turquoise waters surrounded by majestic mountains. From Moraine Lake, you can continue to Tourmente Pass for incredible panoramic views of the Bow Valley and Moraine Lake below. Be sure to check trail conditions before setting out, as there may be snow late in the season.

Take the Banff Gondola to the top of Sulphur Mountain for panoramic views. Visit the Whyte Mountain Museum and the Banff National Parks Museum.

Then head to Upper Hot Springs to relax in naturally warm waters. Enjoy views of the surrounding mountains as you relax. Take advantage of the day to store in Banff Village.

Leave early for Lake Louise, about a 40-minute drive from Banff. Admire the lake’s turquoise waters and majestic Mount Victoria. You can take a short hike around the lake or simply relax and enjoy the view. There’s plenty to do on site, including kayaking, paddleboarding and dining at Château Lac Louise.
