Introduction of Mandatory ETIAS Permit for Travels to Europe
Starting mid-2025, every Canadian traveler planning to visit Europe will be required to possess an ETIAS permit. This is the European Travel Information and Authorization System, implemented by the European Union.
For more information about this permit, you can visit the official website at the following address: https://travel-europe.europa.eu/etias_en.
Please note that this permit costs 7 euros per person, and the process can take up to 30 days for approval.
It is also mandatory to have a passport that remains valid for at least 3 months after your departure date from Europe. Without this, entry at the European border will be denied.

2:00 PM: Arrival in the Algarve for dinner in Guia to taste the famous traditional piri-piri chicken (full dinner including beer and wine).
3:00 PM: Departure to the marina of Vilamoura after dinner.

9 am : Private transfer to Albufeira marina for a full day cruise in the Algarve (depending on weather conditions).
We will sail to the most beautiful spots on the Algarve coast to admire the rock formations and the magnificent white sandy beaches.
We will head towards the Atlantic, Castelo and Praia de Galé. We will pass the fishing village of Armação de Pêra, the stone chapel of Senhora de Rocha to reach the beaches of Marina and Benagil.
We will anchor near a secluded beach. Free time for swimming (bring your swimsuit!). BBQ on the beach for lunch (beer and wine included) and return.
4:15 pm : Departure from Albufeira marina and return to the hotel in Vilamoura. Free time and dinner on your own (extra cost).

2 pm: After lunch, observation of Troia from Pousada.
2:30 pm: Crossing the Natural Park of Arrábida (beautiful mountains and blue waters in front of Troia). Photo stop.
3 pm: Arrival at Azeitão for a tour of the museum and the Bacalhôa vineyard with wine tasting.
Explore the Bacalhôa Museum and enjoy the unique pieces! Take this opportunity to taste the wines of the Setúbal Peninsula.
- Departure to Cristo Rei, a sanctuary and religious monument representing the Sacred Heart of Jesus
4:30 pm: Arrival at the Cristo Rei statue for a photo stop
5 pm: Departure to Lisbon. Crossing the 25 de Abril Bridge, the first suspension bridge over the Tagus River in Lisbon, often compared to the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco.
6 pm: Check-in at the hotel.

1:30 PM : Private transfer with private guide and headphones to the Pena Palace (tickets included in the package). A guided private tour of an hour and a half of the Pena Palace (The palace is considered the finest example of 19th century Romanticism and sits atop a hill above Sintra. It is often visible from Lisbon).
4:00 PM : Departure for Caldas da Rainha.
5:30 PM : Group check-in at the hotel in Caldas da Rainha.

10:30 AM – 11:30 AM: Arrival in Nazaré for a one-hour guided walking tour including headphones to explore this famous fishing village and its gigantic waves (where experienced surfer Garrett McNamara set the world record for the highest wave surfed – 100 feet, 30.48 meters).
12 PM: Departure to Alcobaça (located in the valley of the rivers Alcoa and Baça, which, according to some authors, is the origin of its name. It has also been suggested that it is actually the Arabic name of the place that was separated and gave its name to the two rivers).
12:30 PM: Arrival in Alcobaça for a one and a half hour guided walking tour including headphones to explore.

- Gare de São Bento (inaugurated in 1916, known for its tile panels representing scenes from the history of Portugal)
- Sé de la cathédrale (one of the oldest monuments in the city and one of the most important Romanesque monuments in Portugal with a new entrance fee not included in the package)
- Palais de la Bourse (19th century stock exchange, UNESCO World Heritage Site)

11:45 am: Departure for Bom Jesus de Monte ‘Good Jesus of the Mount’ (notable pilgrimage site with a beautiful baroque staircase).
12 pm: Arrival at Bom Jesus de Monte. Free time to see the city of Braga from the hill. Descend the Bom Jesus Funicular “Elevador do Bom Jesus” The oldest funicular in the world built in 1882 (tickets included).
1:15 pm: Departure for the city center of Braga.
1:30 pm: Arrival for a guided tour of the city center of Braga with private guide & audio headsets.
- Cathedral Sé (With its ancient history and artistic importance, it is also one of the most important buildings in Portugal and the seat of the archdiocese of Braga – entrance not included in the package).
- Tower of Menagem (The tower of the tribune is all that remains of the old Braga Castle).
- Paço Real “Archbishop’s Palace of Braga” Rua do Souto (Pedestrian street connecting Largo Barão de São Martinho to Palace Square).
2 pm: Arrival at Praça da República for lunch ($).
3 pm: Departure for Guimarães (The city is often referred to as the “birthplace of Portuguese nationality”. Its historic center is a UNESCO World Heritage Site).
3:30 pm: Arrival in Guimarães for a guided tour of the city center of Guimarães with a private guide and audio headsets:
- Guimarães Castle (the residence of the first king of Portugal, Afonso Henriques (1139-1185), ordered to be built in the 10th century to defend the monastery from attacks by the Moors and Normans)
- Palace of the Dukes (The Palace of the Dukes of Braganza, a medieval residence and former residence of the first dukes of Braganza – tickets included) Short photo stop for the group in front of the statue of the kings, where Portugal was born!
