Introduction of Mandatory ETIAS Permit for Travels to Europe

Starting at the end of 2026, every Canadian traveler planning to visit Europe will be required to possess an ETIAS permit. This is the European Travel Information and Authorization System, implemented by the European Union.

Please note that this permit costs 7 euros per person, and the process can take up to 30 days for approval.

It is also mandatory to have a passport that remains valid for at least 3 months after your departure date from Europe. Without this, entry at the European border will be denied.

Today, you will discover Madrid, one of the youngest capitals in Europe, a city as vibrant as it is endearing. The Spanish capital is distinguished by its ancient heritage inherited from the reign of the Habsburg and Bourbon dynasties, the abundance of neighborhoods with village-like atmospheres for breakfast, its cultural offerings including the Prado and Reina Sofia museums, and its sunny climate all year round.

Enjoy an interesting panoramic tour of about 3 hours in Madrid which will allow you to see Gran Vía and Plaza de España, the remarkable Plaza Mayor, Puerta del Sol, Puerta de Alcalá, and the legendary Real Madrid stadium, Santiago Bernabéu.

After breakfast at the hotel, departure towards Salamanca. A dynamic and young city, Salamanca has been organized for centuries around its illustrious university, one of the oldest in Europe. Another center of social life, the Plaza Mayor, a central square with Baroque style from the early 18th century, is worth a look. You will have free time to discover Salamanca and its significant heritage.

Breakfast at the hotel

Day dedicated to visiting Porto, the capital of northern Portugal, situated on the hillside at the mouth of the Douro River. Panoramic visit of the old town, with its historic district of Ribeira listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. You will notably see the 12th-century cathedral, the Stock Exchange building, and the magnificent Santa Clara Church, whose facade is covered with blue tiles. Next, you will have the chance to visit a local wine cellar where you will taste the famous “Port wine.”

Porto - Coimbra - Fatima

After breakfast at the hotel, departure towards Coimbra. A warm and quiet city whose charm has been praised in numerous works of literature, Coimbra is home to the oldest university in Portugal, founded in the 13th century. The highest tower of the university overlooks the old town, where bars and restaurants fill up as classes let out. The city is also the birthplace of Fado, the typical Portuguese music with melancholic themes. Dinner with the group. Free time to discover this small town with undeniable charm.

Fatima - Lisbon

Breakfast at the hotel and departure for Fatima, a major Catholic pilgrimage site with nearly five million pilgrims each year. Free time to visit the sanctuary before continuing to Lisbon, the capital of Portugal and one of the most charismatic and dynamic cities in Europe, with its pleasant climate throughout the year.

After breakfast at the hotel, departure for a half-day guided tour of Lisbon. In a maze of sloping alleys, life in the old town, with its colorful buildings connected by winding staircases, moves to the rhythm of the tram bell sounds, the typical means of transport in Lisbon.

You will visit Alfama, the most authentic district of the city, the Belém Tower, built in the early 16th century to control the entrance to the city by sea, as well as the Jerónimos Monastery, built in the same century, where many historical figures rest. Free afternoon to continue your exploration of Lisbon’s rich cultural and historical heritage at your own pace.

Lisbon - Cáceres - Cordoba

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure towards the Spanish border and the city of Cáceres, whose city center is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. You will have free time to explore the fortified old town and admire the Gothic and Renaissance-style manor houses, built between the 14th and 18th centuries. The vibrancy of this medium-sized city can be observed at sunset in the Plaza Mayor, where locals gather around local specialties. Then, you will resume your journey towards Andalusia.

Cordoba - Sevilla

Breakfast at the hotel. A city tour of Cordoba lasting approximately 3 hours. Afterwards, you will head towards Seville.

Sevilla

Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, you will discover Seville, the Andalusian capital and the largest city in southern Spain. The very name of Seville evokes sunshine, tapas, flamenco, and bullfighting. The city also boasts numerous architectural gems, a mixture of Gothic and Moorish styles, remnants of the Muslim conquest of Spain during the Middle Ages.

You will see the Saint Mary’s Cathedral and the Giralda Tower, symbols of Moorish style, the sumptuous Plaza de España, and the Maria Luisa Park, one of the largest parks in Seville. You will also visit the Santa Cruz neighborhood with its typical cobblestone streets and flower-filled terraces, which become vibrant at night.

Free time to visit the Kasbah of the Udayas and the medina. Continue towards Meknes, known as the “Moroccan Versailles,” which became the capital of Morocco.
