Introduction of Mandatory ETIAS Permit for Travels to Europe
Starting at the end of 2026, every Canadian traveler planning to visit Europe will be required to possess an ETIAS permit. This is the European Travel Information and Authorization System, implemented by the European Union.
For more information about this permit, you can visit the official website at the following address: https://travel-europe.europa.eu/etias_en.
Please note that this permit costs 7 euros per person, and the process can take up to 30 days for approval.
It is also mandatory to have a passport that remains valid for at least 3 months after your departure date from Europe. Without this, entry at the European border will be denied.
Itinerary:
 
                      - Meet and greet upon arrival in Istanbul and transfer to the hotel. Dinner at leisure and overnight at the hotel.
 
                      - In the morning, visit the magnificent Hagia Sophia (Ayasofya), a major work of the Byzantine Emperor Justinian I, then free time at the Spice Bazaar (Mısır Çarşısı).
- Next, a lovely boat ride on the Bosphorus (Boğaziçi), where you will enjoy the best views of Istanbul and many of its historic monuments.
- Dinner.
- In the afternoon, explore the Pera district (Beyoğlu) and the pedestrian Istiklal Street (Istiklal Caddesi).
- Dinner on your own and overnight at the hotel.
 
                      - After breakfast, visit Topkapı Palace (Topkapı Sarayı), the residence of the Ottoman sultans from the late 15th century to the first half of the 19th century, with its treasures and collections.
- Lunch.
- In the afternoon, visit the Blue Mosque (Sultanahmet Camii), recognizable by its six minarets, then the Hippodrome of Constantinople (Sultanahmet Meydanı), where sporting, political and cultural events were held during the Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman eras.
- Free time at the Grand Bazaar (Kapalıçarşı).
- Evening meal on your own and overnight at the hotel.
- Breakfast at the hotel, then departure for Çanakkale.
- Lunch on arrival in Çanakkale.
- Arrival in the afternoon; visit the new Troy Museum (Troya Müzesi) and the archaeological site of the ancient city of Troy (Hisarlık), the glorious city of King Priam mentioned in Homer’s Iliad.
- Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
- After breakfast, departure for Pergamon (Bergama).
- Visit to the Asclepion of Pergamon, a therapeutic center and sanctuary dedicated to the god of medicine Asclepius.
- Lunch.
- Then continuation by road to Izmir.
- Walk along the seashore (Aegean Sea).

                      - Breakfast, then departure to visit the magnificent site of Ephesus, one of the finest cities of the ancient world, where you will discover Marble Street, the agora, the odeon, Trajan’s Fountain, the Temple of Hadrian, the Library of Celsus and the theatre.
- Next, a mini fashion show will showcase Turkey’s leather industry. After dinner, visit the House of the Virgin Mary (Meryem Ana Evi), then continue on to Pamukkale.
- Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
- After breakfast, the day is devoted to visiting Pamukkale — literally “cotton castle” — where the thermal waters, having shaped the cliff, cascade into the travertine pools.
- Then a visit to Hierapolis, whose necropolis is very extensive.

- Breakfast at the hotel, then departure for Cappadocia.
- Dinner en route.
- Visit to the Mevlana Museum in Konya, which houses the mausoleum of Mevlana — the mystical poet and founder of the Mevlevi Order of the whirling dervishes.

- En route, visit to a Seljuk caravanserai.
- Crossing the Avcılar and Kılıçlar valleys, renowned for their ancient troglodyte dwellings and fairy chimneys.
- Visit to the charming village of Uçhisar, dominated by its citadel (Uçhisar Kalesi) perched on a rocky outcrop offering superb panoramic views of the region and of Pigeon Valley (Güvercinlik Vadisi).
