Introduction of Mandatory ETIAS Permit for Travels to Europe

Starting at the end of 2026, every Canadian traveler planning to visit Europe will be required to possess an ETIAS permit. This is the European Travel Information and Authorization System, implemented by the European Union.

Please note that this permit costs 7 euros per person, and the process can take up to 30 days for approval.

It is also mandatory to have a passport that remains valid for at least 3 months after your departure date from Europe. Without this, entry at the European border will be denied.

Istanbul
Highlights: Visit to Hagia Sophia, boat trip on the Phosphorus, discovery of Pera

  • In the morning, visit the magnificent Hagia Sophia (Ayasofya), a major work of the Byzantine Emperor Justinian I, then free time at the Spice Bazaar (Mısır Çarşısı).
  • Next, a lovely boat ride on the Bosphorus (Boğaziçi), where you will enjoy the best views of Istanbul and many of its historic monuments.
  • Dinner.
  • In the afternoon, explore the Pera district (Beyoğlu) and the pedestrian Istiklal Street (Istiklal Caddesi).
  • Dinner on your own and overnight at the hotel.

Istanbul
Highlights: Topkapi Palace, Blue Mosque, Grand Bazaar

  • After breakfast, visit Topkapı Palace (Topkapı Sarayı), the residence of the Ottoman sultans from the late 15th century to the first half of the 19th century, with its treasures and collections.

  • In the afternoon, visit the Blue Mosque (Sultanahmet Camii), recognizable by its six minarets, then the Hippodrome of Constantinople (Sultanahmet Meydanı), where sporting, political and cultural events were held during the Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman eras.

Istanbul - Çanakkale
