Nairobi is Africa’s fourth largest city, a vibrant and exciting place and although it has developed a reputation for not being tourist-friendly, the city has some fascinating attractions: its coffee culture, a vibrant nightlife, the National Museum, the Karen Blixen Museum and most importantly, just 20 minutes from downtown, wild lions and buffalo roam quietly in the world’s only urban game reserve

Breakfast at the hotel, followed by a briefing by your driver-guide, then drive via Narok to the famous Masai Mara Game Reserve.

The Masai Mara National Reserve is, along with the Serengeti in Tanzania, Africa’s most famous wildlife park. The image of the acacia trees on the endless plains is for many the epitome of Africa. The great annual migration through the Serengeti and Masai Mara is the largest mass movement of land mammals on the planet – with more than a million animals following the rains. But the viewing doesn’t stop there; large troops of lions, elephants and grassland giraffes, gazelles are just a few examples of the incredible wildlife present in the Masai Mara. Apart from the traditional safari vehicles, the Mara is also famous for its balloon flights and horseback safaris, which are fabulous ways to experience this land paradise.

In the late afternoon, we will go on a photo safari in search of wildlife and other animals, when the light becomes ideal for photos until sunset.

First morning safari photo, at dawn, before breakfast, as this is the best time to observe the animals waking up and looking for the water holes to cool down.

In the afternoon, back to the bush. Masai Mara offers you the best opportunity to see the main wild animals including the “Big Five”. Elephants, rhinos, lions, leopards, and buffaloes roam the acacia-covered hillsides along the river. During the day you will visit a Masai village.

Breakfast. Then departure for Lake Navaisha, first descending into the “Rift Valley”, with its impressive landscapes.

Afternoon game drive with local guide to Crescent Island, a small private game reserve in the middle of Lake Naivasha, where you will have the opportunity to walk amongst giraffe, wildebeest, antelope and zebra.

Lake Naivasha is the highest elevation lake in the Rift Valley, and although it has no outlet, it is one of only two lakes in the Rift Valley to provide fresh water. This beautiful lake is lined with papyrus and acacia trees and is home to over 400 species of birds. Although it is more than 10 km wide, it is very shallow and its surface area varies considerably depending on rainfall, so that in the early 1990s it was completely dry. Lake Naivasha and Crescent Island, a crescent-shaped peninsula, are a bird sanctuary and home to hundreds of species, including ibis, heron and weaver.

Breakfast, then departure for the Lake Nakuru park with its impressive landscapes.

Then arrival in Nakuru Park and photo safari with picnic lunch. Classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this salt lake, home to thousands of flamingos, is a must-see. You will discover many animal species, such as leopards, antelopes, Rothschild’s giraffes, hippos, white and black rhinos strutting around the lake. The forests of euphorbia and yellow acacia trees add to this majestic spectacle.

Resume the road to Naivasha in the late afternoon.

Breakfast and then departure for the Amboseli park located at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro. This magnificent park is dominated by the colossal mass of one of the most majestic volcanoes: Kilimanjaro (5 892 m). Famous for its herds of elephants, the park offers a rich and diverse wildlife.

The landscape of Amboseli National Park is dominated by the snow-capped summit of Kilimanjaro, vast plains, acacia forests, swamps, and the Ol Doinyo Orok Mountains. Renowned for its Masai giraffe, elephant, lion and cheetah sightings, Amboseli is unsurprisingly one of Kenya’s most popular game reserves. The park lends itself perfectly to bird watching, especially near the lakes and swamps. It is also known as the best place in Africa to get up close and personal with elephants in the wild. You will also have the opportunity to meet the Maasai people and enjoy the spectacular view of Kilimanjaro, the world’s highest and most remote mountain.

You will take the road via Nairobi.

In the afternoon, photo safari in this park located in Masai territory, against the backdrop of the sumptuous Mount Kilimanjaro, the roof of Africa, where the splendid landscapes combine dense wildlife and acacia forests.

In the afternoon, you will leave for your last photo safari in the Amboseli park.

Breakfast at the camp, then departure to the private sanctuary of Taita. This reserve is named after the impressive Taita mountain range and is located in the heart of Tsavo Park.

Lunch at the Taita Hills Lodge, where it is not uncommon to see many elephants coming to drink just a few meters from the restaurant terrace!

In the afternoon, you will go on your first photo safari in the sanctuary, along the river in search of elephants at the foot of the hills, where you may be lucky enough to see lions, cheetahs, elephants and Taita Apalis.

At the end of the day, departure in direction of the Sarova Saltlick Lodge, built on stilts, in front of a waterhole, where the animals come to quench their thirst in front of you.

After breakfast, you will drive to Tsavo East National Park. This national park, the largest and oldest in the country, is characterized by rugged and arid landscapes, except along the Galana River. Tsavo’s red earth colors the landscapes, the rivers and even the animals, which populate the park.

Most of Tsavo National Park is closed to the public and serves as a wildlife study and breeding area. The areas that are open to the public are reminiscent of the Africa of early 20th century explorers, with endless plains planted with scattered baobabs. Beyond the park’s borders, these same inhospitable plains are traversed by the nomadic hunters and pastoralists of the Wata tribe… Animal life is concentrated along the Galana River in beautiful landscapes.

Also worth seeing is Lugard’s Falls – impressive rapids that run through a rocky neck of the river…
Tsavo East is an arid plateau with a shrubby steppe but is cut by the Athi-Galana-Sabaki River. In Tsavo, we meet large herds of elephants, black rhinos and also giraffes, cobs, antelopes, jackals: all the Kenyan fauna is gathered in Tsavo.

Installation and lunch at the lodge.

Afternoon photo safari in this park with its rich and varied wildlife, but which also offers beautiful landscapes to its visitors: the Yatta Plateau, the Lugard Falls on the Galana River and the Mudanda Rock overlooking a waterhole where many elephants come to drink in the dry season.

Return to the lodge before sunset. Dinner and overnight.
