Exploring Chamonix

Although I’ve been living in BC—aka skiers’ paradise—for several years now, I still love to travel and discover new places to ski. In the winter of 2019–2020, I decided to visit the French Alps for the season. During my time there, I met up with a friend in Chamonix who suggested we spend a day in the Brévent-Flégère area. I liked the idea of exploring a spot that was less popular but had just as much to offer. And, I have to say, I was not disappointed. The view was so spectacular, it was sometimes hard to focus on the skiing! This visit reminded me of my first trip to the area in 2009, when I had skied the Italian side in Courmayeur and my stay in 2013, when I explored the Vallée Blanche with the help of a guide (an extraordinary experience I highly recommend).

Chamonix is definitely so much more than just the Aiguille du Midi! Indeed, as the birthplace of skiing, this classic destination will amaze and charm you with every visit! And, don’t forget that your ski pass gives you access to all three countries: France, Switzerland and Italy! //
